Trigger's Broom
Minument to the Lion and the Unicorn
Scales, Copper Coins, Aluminium wire and Miliput
Trigger's Broom was originally a drawing I made in 2020 of a Lion and a Unicorn in a boat without paddles. It was a response to the increasingly isolationist rhetoric in the UK and a feeling of growing discontent.
Trigger's Bloom explores an increasingly unequal system, in which Human Capital - the knowledge, experience and skills of an individual - has reduced individuals to commodities. A citizen consumer which can be traded and ultimately, replaced.
Minuments are counterpoints to monuments. They are small in scale and are not intended to aggrandise, celebrate or commemorate. Anonymous bodies that mark fleeting moments, sensations and less salubrious aspects of contemporary life.
