Baller - Pangolin
Bronze and Jesmonite Edition 10 13.5 x 9.5x 9 cm Pangolins are among the most trafficked animals for their meat and scales. The word Pangolin comes from the Malay word ‘penggulung,’ meaning 'roller,' – an action taken in self-defence. This pangolin sits curled on top of a cast of a tin can. Minuments are counterpoints to monuments. They are small in scale and are not intended to aggrandise, celebrate or commemorate. They are anonymous figures that mark fleeting moments. They mimic the proportions and conventions of monuments on a small scale. |
